Archiving multiple files into a single file.

WebFTP™ supports the sending of only a single file. If you have multiple files that you wish to send, you should use one of the file archiving tools shown below. While there are other choices, these are the most common ones available and are supported by Cygnus Business Media. Additionally, these tools will compress a single file, shortening transmissions times. So, you may want to consider always using these tools when exchanging files with other people.

 

WinZip brings the convenience of Windows to the use of Zip files and other archive and compression formats. The optional wizard interface makes unzipping easier than ever. WinZip features built-in support CAB files and for popular Internet file formats such as TAR, gzip, UUencode, BinHex, and MIME. ARJ, LZH, and ARC files are supported via external programs. WinZip interfaces to most virus scanners. Cygnus Recommendation: Windows Users should use this program.

StuffIt supports more compression and email formats than any other compression program! StuffIt has full compression and expansion support for the most used formats on Windows (Zip and StuffIt/SIT), Macintosh (StuffIt/SIT), Unix (Tar/gzip) plus many more. StuffIt also includes the most comprehensive set of expansion and decoding formats of all. This program is required to BinHex Macintosh files that have icons, creator and type codes. Cygnus Recommendation: Apple Users should use this program.
